GASORE Hategeka and Nicodem Habiyambere, who are shaping up for next month’s training camp at the International Cycling Center in Switzerland, are determined to become professional cyclists.

Despite Rwanda’s dominance in the region, the country boasts of only one professional driver in Adrien Niyonshuti who rides for South African club MTN Energade.

Hategeka and Habiyambere told Times Sport that they want to use the experience of training alongside the best cyclists in the world in the forth coming Africa Cycling Championship and the Tour of Rwanda.

"We hope to learn a lot from this training camp and use the experience in the Africa Cycling Championship and the Tour of Rwanda.”

"Our major aim is to turn professional soon and the best way of doing this is by impressing in those two competitions,” Hategeka said.

Hategeka and Habiyambere finished third and 4th in the Kwita Izina cycling tour that took place last month.
Four-time Tour of Rwanda champion Abraham Ruhumuriza won the event for a second year running.
