Congratulations to Rwanda’s justice system

Editor, I really wish to congratulate the Rwandan courts for the way they have handled the Peter Elrinder case so far. Whether or not people say or think that his release on bail was because of external pressure, it doesn’t matter.  What the judges did was prescribed in Rwandan law.

Supreme Court of Rwanda.

Editor,

I really wish to congratulate the Rwandan courts for the way they have handled the Peter Elrinder case so far. Whether or not people say or think that his release on bail was because of external pressure, it doesn’t matter.

What the judges did was prescribed in Rwandan law. I don’t think they were influenced. What has been done is right; it can be done the same way in America too.

What Rwanda has shown is that we, Africans, value our own laws and they bind everyone, whether you are black or white.

Despite the fact that we receive financial support from USA or Europe, it should be clear to them that the funds we receive from them are not meant to buy us or undermine our laws. No way. Nobody would dare go to their countries and flaunt their laws, so why should their citizens do so in our country?
