Nyagatare — A military patrol detail recovered the body of a man suspected to be a Tanzanian, in Nyamirama cell in Karangazi sector.


Area residents said that the man was living near George Gafuraka’s farm and that his body was discovered by military patrol at night.


Witnesses found at the scene also said that the man who was only identified as Umunyambo is suspected to have been killed by a buffalo.


One Clever Mutsinzi an area risendent said, "We suspect he was attacked and killed by a buffalo from Akagera National Park.”


He added that the Tanzanian was a fisherman living in an area where many buffaloes used to gather.


Mutsinzi said, "The fisherman’s body was in a terrible condition which indicated that the body had spent over four days in the area.”


The body had been cut into different parts, with both legs and an arm severed. His body was found where he used to smoke  his fish from.


The body had injuries allover.


A sector local leader, Focus Mugabo, said that he got information about the death of the fisherman on Tuesday.


Doctors from Nyagatare hospital examined the body, after which it was buried right at very spot where it was found.
