Rwanda’s Divine Kirezy emerges as top 10

RWANDAN beauty, Divine Kirezy completed the recent Miss Universe Canada 2010 beauty Pageant, and came out  number 10. “I was number 10, but placed on eight. I’m so glad, because it wasn’t easy to compete for the title,” she said.

RWANDAN beauty, Divine Kirezy completed the recent Miss Universe Canada 2010 beauty Pageant, and came out  number 10.

"I was number 10, but placed on eight. I’m so glad, because it wasn’t easy to compete for the title,” she said.
The 59th finals for the Miss Universe Canada 2010 took place in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday June 12 and Monday June 14 at the John Bassett Theatre (Metro Toronto Convention Centre).

The crown was taken by Elena Semikina, 26, who will represent Canada in Miss Universe 2010 Pageant in Las Vegas starting on 23 August.

Kirezy was the only black contestant, who made it to the top 10 and the second Rwandan in the race after Solange Tuyishime.

She wrote on Facebook: "God is our refuge and our strength!” "First and foremost, I want to thank God for opening the door to a chance of lifetime. Without Him, none of this would be possible!”

She added: "I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to mom and dad, the whole family, to all the special and gracious people, who supported me during my journey, to all your love, your kind words. I’m very thankful, from the bottom of my heart….thank! "

Born in Rwanda and raised in Quebec, Canada, Kirezy was among the 62 contestants, who vied for the title of Miss Universe Canada 2010.

Kirezy knew from early age that she wanted to become part of the world. She opens her mind to several field of interest such as fashion, hosting on a radio, communication, politics, and import-export.
