Torres couldnot believe that Spain had lost to Switzerland

IN the run up to the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa, the likes of Spain, England, Brazil, Argentina, Italy and to a less extent, Germany, were touted as tournament favourites. But the way things are unfolding tells a far different story.

Switzerland pulled off the most shocking result of all when they defeated Spain 1-0.  Italy, who are also the defending champions, could only grind out a 1-all draw against Paraguay while Brazil survived a late scare to secure a 2-1 win over the unknown North Koreans.

Germany raised everyone’s hopes when they thrashed Australia 4-0 but then succumbed to a 0-1 loss against Serbia yesterday.

1998 winners France, who have still failed to score a goal from their opening two games, are on the verge of packing their bags.

I’m sure this is just the beginning. We are yet to witness more surprises.
