Over 468 police cadets pass-out

KIGALI - President Paul Kagame yesterday officiated at the pass-out of 468 Rwanda National Police (RNP) cadet officers who completed their training course at the National Police Academy in Musanze District.

KIGALI - President Paul Kagame yesterday officiated at the pass-out of 468 Rwanda National Police (RNP) cadet officers who completed their training course at the National Police Academy in Musanze District.

During a colourful ceremony held at a packed-to-capacity Amahoro Stadium, the President, promoted the cadets to the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP).
The event coincided with the forces’ celebrations to mark its10 anniversary since it was established.

The celebrations also marked the conclusion of the forces’ eight weeks of community activities which included road safety, community policing, environmental protection and Gender Based Violence (GBV).
37 of the cadets are female.

Thomas Maniraguha and Jacqueline Urugeni emerged the first and second best cadets respectively based on discipline, commitment and being exemplary. They walked away with medals.
