Editor, It was a great pleasure to read in your newspaper that the Ministry of Education is going to implement the “One Laptop Per Child “ programme on a countrywide basis. The OLPC programme is indeed a great initiative and what is interesting to note, is that the programme will cover the entire country and not just the main cities.

It was a great pleasure to read in your newspaper that the Ministry of Education is going to implement the "One Laptop Per Child " programme on a countrywide basis.
The OLPC programme is indeed a great initiative and what is interesting to note, is that the programme will cover the entire country and not just the main cities.
Please allow me to congratulate the Ministry of Education and the OLPC programme coordinator along with his team for launching this initiative after the initial pilot project which was undertaken earlier.
Information and Communication Technology is indeed the need of the hour and with the great initiatives undertaken by the Government whether with online visas by the Immigration and Emigration Department or with online business registrations by the Rwanda Development Board one can really look forward to Rwanda becoming the ICT hub not just for the EAC region but for the entire African continent.
