"I like gorillas so much because they make me proud. People come from far and near to visit them in our beloved country Rwanda. I would name a baby gorilla Teta.”

Lillian Akimana, 11, P.6.

"Gorillas in Rwanda are important because when tourists come to visit them they pay a lot of money to develop the tourism sector. To make a baby gorilla happy, I would take it to Simba Super market for shopping.”

James Mfashingabo, 12, P.6.

"If I had a gorilla at my home, I would employ a veterinary doctor to take care of it every day and to ensure that remains a good healthy gorilla.”

Fleury Uwikunda, 10, P 5.

"Since Rwanda has some of the only Mountain gorillas that exist worldwide, Rwandans should be proud of it.”

Solange Ishimwe, 11, P.5.

"In order to increase the number of Gorillas every year, people should stop hunting them down. Those who are trying to do it, should be punished.”

Derrick Siboniyo, 10, P.5.

"If I was given a chance at Kwita Izina, I would name one, Keza because they are beautiful and that’s why many people like to visit them even if they have to pay dearly.”

Teta Musana, 9, P.4.

"To protect our gorillas, the Virunga National Park should be fenced and there should be more sensitization about the importance of gorillas to the country.”

Angelique Mbabazi, 13, P.6.

"Since Kwita Izina is a custom in Rwanda, some of the names I would give to the new born gorillas are; Shema, Inyungu, Uwikunda, Ishimwe, Rukundo and other names that have great meaning.”

Joselyne Nzisabira, 9, P.4.
