WESTERN Province side Etincelles could play in next year’s Africa Confederation Cup if APR beats Rayon Sport in the final of the MTN Peace Cup due this Saturday.

With APR already guaranteed a ticket to the Caf Champions League following their Primus League triumph, a win for Erik Paske’s side will mean that the second placed side in the Primus league will secure the Confederations Cup ticket.

And since Atraco, who had been guaranteed second place pulled out of the league, Etincelles are best placed to seal the slot as Ferwafa commissioner in charge of competitions, Bonny Nsabimana disclosed to Times Sport yesterday.

"If Rayon wins on Saturday, they will play in the Confederations Cup but if APR win, it will be down to the team which finishes second in the league and as things stand, Etincelles are in the driving seat,” Nsabimana said.

Amagaju yet to be ruled out of Primus league
Nsabimana further added that Amagaju could still feature in next year’s Primus league following Atraco’s withdrawal.
According to Nsabimana, Atraco were scrapped off of all their league points and dropped down to 12th spot. This means that Atraco and Musanze have dropped to the second division.

It is also said that points earned against Atraco will not be considered in the final classification. Further details will be revealed after Ferwafa’s general assembly.
