Mimosa restaurant and bar (pronounced mimoza) is located at Kacyiru next to Kigali City Towers opposite the chiness restaurant at the ground floor of Concorde building.

This place when seen from outside, it makes  you want to turn and walk away, it has a big tent out side that looks like it’s going to fall any minute, also the ground beneath it is not paved or cemented, but when you brave the outer look and step inside you sigh with relief.

What makes this place tick is its décor, the place has with stylish modern furniture and the clients savor their food watching DSTV.

Mimosa specializes mostly in local dishes, but potage and deserts are always in plenty, though I should add their menu is lacking, the customer care is also fabulous, when we visited the place, we were welcomed by the manager himself.

White collar-job workers from surrounding institutions flock this joint and mingle with the blue collar and enjoy their food in harmony.

The buffet cost 2000 francs, a soda goes for 500, and they also have other tribes of beverages, the bar was fully stocked but seems to get attention mostly in the evening and on weekends.

The good points: The place is clean, spacious and has ample parking space

The bad points: Staff do not have uniforms
Toilets: Very clean
Music: This issue needs to be addressed.
