Junk food is has little or no nutritional value but tastes so good yet its high in calorie content.

It could be crispy chicken, sandwich lollies, soft drinks, potato chips, doughnuts, ice cream, hamburgers, and hot dogs among other take away foods.

In addition, often junk food is eaten on the go and is chosen because it is quick and easy to prepare rather than for its nutritional content. It has become a part of most people’s life, and the evidence is plain to see as more people are becoming obese and unhealthy because of their weight.

Despite the fact that junk food is bad for people’s health, most continues to eat junk food because it is addictive.
Even when obesity is a challenge, people continue eating junk food without a care about its consequences.

According to medical officials, people who consume large quantities of junk food which are high in calories, but low in nutritional value are more likely to become obese, to develop diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers.

Their mental health may also suffer, if they have a weight problem they could also have low self-esteem, whilst junk food tends to contain a lot of sugar which is addictive.

It is common for people to suffer from mood swings and cravings for sugar-laden foods when they have not had a sugar-fix. This may be one reason why people eat junk food even though they know it is bad for them, as they have a compulsion to do so.

Advertising also plays a big role in getting people to buy junk food in the first place if they see an advertisement for a new product, particularly if it is cheap. This only motivates them to. Once they have tried it, they cannot stop because they are already addicted.
