Musabyimana lands ‘match commissioner’ duties at W/Cup

RWANDA’S Celestin Musabyimana has been appointed as one of the match commissioners for the 2010 Fifa World Cup which kicks off this Friday.

In a letter signed by Fifa’s Director of Competitions, Jim Brown, Musabyimana who is also part of the CAF executive committee, was appointed during a Fifa meeting held last month.

Another Rwandan who will be active in South Africa is Célestin Ntagungira a.k.a Abegga.

Abegga is among 58 assistant referees at the one-month event.

The 43-year-old will officiate alongside the South African pair of Jerome Damon (center referee) and Enoch Molefe (assistant referee).

Premier league’s Howard Webb, who also handled this year’s Champions League final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich heads a list of 30 referees.
