THREE members of Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa are in South Africa to attend a two-day FIFA congress in Sandton Convention Center from June 9-10.

Ferwafa president Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura, Vice President Raoul Gisanura and Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa flew out last evening for the event which is considered to be the largest off-field football event in the world.

This is the first time the convention is being held in Africa.
Of the previous 59 FIFA Congresses, 46 have been held in Europe.

The trio will also watch the opening match of the competition between hosts South Africa and Mexico on June 11.

The Fifa congress, which has been annual since 1998, will be preceded by meetings for all the other continental football bodies.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and CONCACAF will meet today at Sandton Convention Center; the AFC Extraordinary Congress and CONMEBOL will convene at Gallagher Convention Centre while UEFA will assemble at the Monte Casino.
