Nyabinoni evaluates performance contracts

BY DANIEL SABIITISOUTHERN PROVINCE MUHANGA: Residents of Nyabinoni Sector should be deeply involved in achieving the development goals underlined in the performance contracts 2007, an official has said. Celestine Twagirumukiza, the Executive Secretary of Nyabinini, made the remarks last Thursday during the evaluation of the sector performance contracts 2007 at the Sector grounds. The function was also attended by district officials and donors from Centre de Service aux Cooperative (CSC- a major rural support institution in the district) Ngororero security officials, National Electoral Commissioners and opinion leaders. Twagirumukiza said that security and education for all, and increased agricultural output have topped priorities of residents in the evaluations."I am not afraid to say that we have had insurgency caused by rebel activities in the past year which impacted on the socio-economic performance in the area,” he said. Twagirumukiza decried the increasing numbers of children and youths in the area, urging that there is need take the children to school and control on the births. He noted that polygamy and sex abuse are the main cause of increased infections in the sector. "I believe that profitable agricultural activities and environmental protection will improve the livelihood of residents if each one participates in development,” Vedaste Iyakare, a CSC official said.
