RWANDA’s football youngsters have been presented with an opportunity to train in ASPIRE Academy-one of the world’s most advanced academies.

The academy’s scout Gerald Zaragoza, who has already pre-selected eight youngsters from Kizuguro, Eastern Province is also Gicumbi, Gisenyi, Musanze, Muhanga, Huye, Karongi, and Kimisagara before winding up his tour in Remera on Friday.

Further pre-selections will be held in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania before a final selection in Nairobi. The best players will then be flown to Qatar.

"In Qatar, players will be given football tutorials where the best will then join Barcelona football academy,” Zaragoza said.

ASPIRE academy also referred to as ‘ASPIRE Africa. Football Dreams’ was unveiled in 2007 by Brazilian soccer legend Pele. Till this day, it is the largest football talent search project in football history.

Andreas Bleicher, Sports Director at ASPIRE said recently that, "Everyone in football is aware of the significant talent that exists in Africa, and also of the challenges that can prevent this talent reaching its full potential so this is an opportunity for talented young African boys to reach the heights of international football in the future.”
