The 22-year-old, whose group was not nominated for the awards, claimed that the organisers did not have enough money to award the best artists and athletes. "They should be honest and admit that they didn’t have money to organise a worthy award ceremony,” Bull Dogg dissed.
The scenario comes after Tuff Gang, a local Hip-hop group famous for their ‘Umunsi w’imperuka’ track was rejected during the nomination.
Meanwhile, in an interview, Mike Karangwa, one of the organisers dismissed Bull Dogg’s allegation, saying that nominations are based on the categories.
"Our intention is to put Rwanda’s music industry to a better level and we shall not care about those, who failed to meet the criteria say about us,” Karangwa said.
The Salax Awards are presented annually by the Ikirezi Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Culture for outstanding achievements in the music industry.
The festival will take place on Friday June 4, 2010, at Petit Stade at 2:00 p.m.
