TP Mazembe boss Moses Katumbi has criticized the behavior of his players in the just ended Kagame Cup.

The African champions were disqualified from the two-week event for unsporting behaviour during their group (A) match with APR. Trailing the army side by a goal, TP Mazembe players turned violent against the referee when he showed their captain Tresor Mputu a straight red for insolence.

Katumbi, who also doubles as governor of DRC’s Katanga region told the Congolese media recently that such behaviour is unacceptable.

"It was very unfortunate and I have asked Mputu to check on his discipline.” This was the second time TP Mazembe was showing unsporting behaviour. The first time was last year in Khartoum when El-Merreikh eliminated them at a semi final stage.

TP Mazembe, who could now be penalised for their actions by Africa’s football governing body (CAF), is in the last eight of the lucrative Orange Champions League.
