IT is set to be a tantalizing battle when the top two teams in the national women league clash this afternoon at Nyamirambo’s Regional stadium.

With two games to go, the game will determine who gets the edge.

Reigning champions AS Kigali have a two point advantage over their APR rivals which means a win or draw today will leave them needing just a point to retain the title.

In the run in to today’s game, AS Kigali coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is well aware that she could go down in Rwanda’s football history as the first coach to win back to back league titles.

"It would be dangerous for us to think that a draw is good enough so we going out for a win,” Nyinawumuntu said.
However, APR tactician Egidia Kayitesi is not worried insisting that pressure is on AS Kigali.

"They have been at the top all season so they are definitely under pressure to keep up with the pace,” Kayitesi said.

Other matches will see Aspej hosting Muhoza, GSSR facing Rubavu while Ruhango will play Rambura.
