The current drive launched by the Rwanda National Police, to solve housing problems within the force, is yet another milestone in the government’s relentless efforts to find solutions the problems Rwandans face.

As announced by officials, recently, the housing campaign, whose primary target is junior police officers, will see the force use its own human resources to construct the houses.

This is a worthwhile investment as the project will help provide decent housing to the police force, an incentive that will encourage them to execute their duties in a more confident and professional manner.

The fact that the prime beneficiaries are low-ranking officers is equally commendable, another vote of confidence to the force’s top brass, because this is an act that demonstrates leadership by example.

The initiative is, therefore, another indication that, gradually, through adopting carefully studied initiatives, the government will in the short and long term, find solutions to the challenges that society confronts every day.
