The current Mukura Victory Sport team is far better than all the previous ones according to head coach Rajab Bizimuremyi.

Speaking to Times Sport Bizimuremyi noted that one thing that makes the current team better is the quality of players recruited in close season.

"My team is well coordinated now and they have been training together for some days. We need to start wining games and perhaps participate in CAF competition sooner rather than later,” he said.

The Huye based outfit has signed a couple of what the coach described as ‘quality’ players and among them are Fred Mugisha, Dady Agiti, Rajab Arafat and Jacques.

The return to full fitness of the center back Denis Hakizimana is a major boost to the club that has not  yet to conceded a goal in two league games this season.

And in his admission, Bizimuremyi says he has a relatively rich squad to select the best players to play in the first team.

He however, noted that Hakizimana will not be rushed to play games as the club has other players who can play in his position.

The 24-year-old defender is still recovering from a career threatening back he sustained in 2006 while representing the National University of Rwanda (NUR) in the East and Central African university games in Kampala.

Bizimuremyi’s side hosts Kiyovu this afternoon and the coach has set his sight on collecting maximum points to maintain his team’s perfect start of the season.

The club has not conceded a goal while scoring five goals on the other end from two games and a win today would make it three wins out of three, the best start for the club in recent years.

Mukura won the corresponding fixture last season 4-2 and would be hoping for the same this time around. In the last two seasons, Mukura has finished fifth and fourth respectively but Bizimuremyi believes his side can go a step better this season.

Elsewhere this afternoon, the champions APR Fc take on Police at Mumena stadium in Nyamirambo while Rayon Sports under their new coach Raoul Shungu ‘hosts’ AS-Kigali in Gitarama. In Shyorongi, Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s Atraco Fc entertains Kibuye.
