The management of Bralirwa, the country’s largest brewery producer, has set June 19, 2010 as the date on which lucky winners will share Rwf60m cash prizes through the "Mützig Gold Tombola” promotion.

Bralirwa’s Commercial Director, Alexander Koch said that the promotion was launched in February this year to reward Mützig lovers.

"Since the beginning of the promotion, Mützig is distributed in special bottles with special crowns ("you win, Goldcard” printed on the inside) hidden within the bottles,” Koch said.
However, the promotion is seen as one of the many strategies to beat the growing competition within the East Africa’s brewery industry.

In the recent past East African Breweries Limited (EABL) increased its presence in Rwanda as local player, Brasserie des Mille Collines Ltd (BMC), which brews Skol beer made a commercial launch, promising to increase its product line.  Bralirwa says that it is planning to increase its presence in the region.

In the promotion, consumer obtains a special Mützig Goldcard. With a unique number printed on every card, this Goldcard is the ticket for entering the final electronic draw which will take place on June 19.

Officials said that to ensure total transparency and objectivity and give equal opportunities to all Goldcard holders, a mechanism including software-designed specifically for the final draw, has been set up.

"The winners will be electronically and publicly picked up among the Goldcard holders under the supervision of a legal representative,” Koch explained.
