Another art studio, Uburanga Arts belonging to Jean Bosco Bakunzi was launched in yet another ground breaking event on Saturday May 23, at Rugando Street, Kimihurura. The event attracted a wide range of art lovers who turned up in large numbers in support of Rwandan art.

The 24-year-old Bakunzi, the founder of Uburanga—meaning the Beauty, couldn’t hide his excitement at the success of the  launch.

"I feel super good at the number of people who appreciate what I do,” Bakunzi said, "I believe that through art, Uburanga will bring emotional, mental and physical healing to people’s hearts and souls.”

Bakunzi has also worked for four years under the IMENA project with the orphans at Gisimba Memorial Centre (where he lived as a child after 1994) by teaching and supporting them to paint as a way of bringing healing to their troubled lives as well as laying a foundation in skills development for self- sustainability in the future.  

Over 200 guests turned up on top of the 100 invited-guests. A variety of art collections of both local and international artists were displayed giving a colourful and vibrant synergy to Uburanga Arts studio.
