Editor,

This is in reference to your article on dairy farming in today’s issue of your newspaper. The Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources , Dr.Agnes Kalibata , has very rightly urged Rwandan dairy farmers to explore the opportunities this sector offers.

Rwanda is primarily an agricultural country and while it is very good to lay adequate stress on Information and Communication Technology , Infrastructure , Tourism etc. one cannot deviate from the fact that due emphasis on Agriculture and Animal Resources will go a long way in the overall growth and development of the Rwandan economy.

By hosting the 6th African Dairy Conference and Expo , the Rwandan Government endorses the importance  attached to agriculture and animal resources and this will complement the giant strides being taken to make Rwanda an ICT hub for the region  as well as the major investments into infrastructure , tourism and other growth sectors.
