OPTIMISTIC; Maximo believes Tanzania still have a good chnace of qualifying for CHAN 2011

TAIFA Stars coach Marcio Maximo has summoned a provisional 29-man squad to begin preparations for the second leg of the 2011 CHAN final qualifying round against Rwanda.

The June 5 contest will be staged in Kigali.
After missing the first leg, Simba’s fit-again midfielder Abdulhalim Humoud is back in the side.
As usual, Maximo, who did not make many changes, said that his selection was based on spirit, attitude, commitment, discipline, image patriotism, performance and age.
On top of first choice goalie Shabani Kado and his number two Jackson Chove, the Brazilian has also included Tanzania’s U-20 goalie Kabali Abubakari Faraji in the squad. Defenders include Shadrack Nsajigwa, Salum Kanoni, Juma Jabu, Stephano Mwasika and Abuu Ubwa, Nadir Haroub, Kelvin Yondan, Aggrey Morris, David Naftal, Dickson Daudi and Tumba Sued from Azam.
Midfielders are Erasto Nyoni, Nurdin Bakari, Jabir Aziz, Kigi Makasi, Shaban Nditi, Abdi Kassim, Uhuru Selemani (Simba), Selemani Kassim and Mao Ally Bofu from Azam while APR target Mrisho Ngasa, John Bocco, Musa Hassan Mgosi, Jerson Tegete, Mbwana Samatta and Thomas Ulimwengu make up the striking line.
The first leg ended in a 1-all draw which means that Amavubi march into the return leg with a slight advantage.
Maximo will want to bank on his side’s 2-1 win the last time Tanzania played in Kigali.
