According to reports from the local football governing body, Ferwafa, CAF president Issa Hayatou recently came into agreement with FIFA president Sepp Blatter to lift Togo’s extensive ban for the next two Nations Cup finals.

According to reports from the local football governing body, Ferwafa, CAF president Issa Hayatou recently came into agreement with FIFA president Sepp Blatter to lift Togo’s extensive ban for the next two Nations Cup finals.
CAF banned the West African country for boycotting the Angola2010 finals following a terrible saga where two players and a press officer were shot dead by rebels in Angola.
The incident produced ripples as aggrieved Togo took matters before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) protesting the ban.
Rwanda had been drawn in Group H alongside Ivory Coast, Benin and Burundi and although Ferwafa CEO Jules Kalisa has welcomed Hayatou’s decision to lift Togo’s ban, he is worried that Rwanda could now get much tougher opponents.
"I am skeptical about our opponents should there another draw,” Kalisa said.
The 2012 Nations Cup will be jointly held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
