This is in reference to your article announcing the award won by Ruth Nirere Shanel at the International Festival of Francophone Films ( FIFF) in Belgium.
Please allow me to congratulate this budding and talented actress and musician on her wonderful performance.
The film,” The Day God Walked Away ", in which Shanel plays the lead role is a strong reminder to the world of the atrocities committed in Rwanda during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and an opportunity for one and all to resolve " Never Again ".
Ambassadors like Shanel will help to communicate to the world that Rwanda always advocates peace and while the Genocide is part of the country’s history, the nation will continue its march towards economic growth and prosperity for all its citizens and for this beautiful land of a million smiles!
