Rwandatel subscribers will enjoy cheaper bills as the mobile operator announced price reduction in an attempt to boost market share in what is becoming an increasingly competitive mobile industry.

Rwanda’s second largest telecommunication company by market share has introduced a 24 hr talk for Rwf500 for subscribers on its network.

In a promotion named "Ntukupe” a client is required to load Rwf500 and press *226*3# to activate the service.

Rwandatel’s Corporate Communications Manager, Cleophas Kabasiita told Business Times that the promotion has been running for sometime only that clients have been limited for 12 hrs only.

"Before it was Rwf500 for 12 hrs from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, but right now ‘Ntukupe’ 24 hrs,” she said.

Kabasita also added that the service comes from a big bouquet of services that the company has in store for its subscribers.

Rwandatel has also slashed the SIM card fees from Rwf1000 to Rwf500 which comes with a Rwf500 airtime bonus, Kabasita said.

The operator also offers free Short Message Services (SMS) from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.
