Green Hills Academy students last week donated Rwf 800,000 to children living with disabilities in Kamonyi Rehabilitation Centre.

The donation is part of the students’ outreach programme.
Norbert Musana, a student’s representative from Green Hills Academy, said that the event was a learning experience for students from both institutions.

"When I see the children living with disability, I feel compelled to help and share my blessings with vulnerable people. This should continue even when I become a leader,” Musana said.

Sister Donatila Mukarubayiza, the orphanage director, said the support would benefit over 280 children with disabilities.

"The donor students have shown through this gesture the connection between education and being mindful of the less fortunate within society. We are grateful for their parents and teachers for enabling them to reach out to needy ones,” she said.
