Is the deal of constructing Kabeza road still on or did it flop?

Through your paper, allow me space to communicate my concern to the government, whether the plan to construct the Kabeza road is still on, or it simply died a natural death without awareness.

Through your paper, allow me space to communicate my concern to the government, whether the plan to construct the Kabeza road is still on, or it simply died a natural death without awareness.

It’s now coming to five months, since the Rwandan government contracted with the Chinese road constructors. Soon, they put their tracks on that road and started leveling the road, from Giporoso to Rubirizi.

Honestly, this was a great move, no wonder, residents had started giving testimonies in Churches, that God has rescued them from the sickening dust, while others would be heard in the area Giporoso singing Itsinzi, a local song, Rwandans sing when they have achieved something.

It’s undoubtedly; people now had a reason to put a smile on their faces, and probably planning to wear some of their longtime-kept white outfits. Because they were fantasying of being like their brothers in the likes of Nyarutarama, little knowing that our fate was on the door!

Now, there is no any single signal for the construction. The dust is at its worst, nearly reaching into people’s bedrooms. The rain no longer pours and some residents are now slowly abandoning the area.

Transport costs to and from Kabeza have also hiked as a result of the awful dust, and often times, drivers and motorists threaten residents that soon they will stop operating from the road until it’scompleted, because they are tied of washing their clothes everyday.

Indeed, one can’t put the blame on them, but rather the government that has deliberately turned a deaf ear to the situation.

This is not overstating the matter, but probably some of these concerned officials should one time take their responsibility at hand, leave those swinging chairs and visit this forgotten area.

I’m pretty sure, from there, if they at all have some humanity left, they will be able to take quick measures to solve the situation.

Merry X-mas and Happy New Year of 2008 to whoever reads this!!!

Kabeza.
