Norbert Sendege is the Director General of Rwanda Agriculture Development Authority (RADA).

Below, he takes us through his typical work day;

I wake-up at 5:30a.m, go for a shower and dress up for work. After breakfast, I set off taking about 15 minutes to get to my work place.

Upon arrival, I sign in my attendance record and resort to the days` agenda.

At 7:30a.m, I hold a meeting with unit leaders and other staff members. This is also the time I assign members who will go to the field. At about 9a.m, I concentrate on office work as I also attend to those on appointment.

Depending on the agenda, I may either attend internal or external meetings. Lunch time comes when I believe I have put in some good work.

But if not with a busy schedule, I have lunch at a 1:30p.m. In the afternoon, I concentrate on internal work. This involves receiving reports from those who were in the field, assess performance as well as note what may not have been accomplished. This becomes part of next day’s target.

I work until I am sure I have served to my ability and leave office at 7p.m. In the evening, I try to attend to my family.

I especially help my children with their homework.
I have supper at 9p.m and get to bed at 10.
