It is my first flight, but so sad a short one from Entebbe, Uganda to Kigali, Rwanda. I am smiling at the lady seated next to me dressed in hot pink and she looks really good. She happens to take me through her photo album and one of her wonder pictures was taken in 2002, a month before her plastic surgery, she said.

More so, plastic surgery has been successfully performed on all parts of the body—the abdomen, teeth, skin, hair, breasts and even on unmentionable body parts.
The ‘skin’ part reminds of one fact that is often questioned, on whether plastic surgery causes skin cancer. Research shows that it doesn’t. Instead, it goes beyond achieving beauty and fighting age, to curing skin cancer—of course you couldn’t look beautiful with a sick skin.
Dental surgery in the developed world shoots my mind. Most ‘A listers’ provide a good example on how plastic surgery has worked for them; Actor, Tom Cruise who has one of the ten best male smiles in Hollywood started laughing wide just after his dental surgery just like Celine Deon, Catherine Zetta Jonnes et cetera.
Kenny Rogers looks more handsome today with his eyes widened just like rapper-singer, Lil Kim looks hotter than in she was in the 90’s after breast implants, lightened skin and an expensive facelift.
However, not all surgery experiences are happily ever after tale tales. Sad stories are told of patients who were worked on in theatres but unluckily turned out uglier than they were before surgery.
Some 40 year-olds have turned out wretched either because some teeth turned into something like Chiclets or they had unaccommodating skins—in this case, their money exceeded their brains.
The legendary artist Micheal Jackson (MJ) was also wretched and battled with nose cancer after numerous plastic surgeries? The nose job he did to improve on his facial appearance almost cost him his life. The ‘king of pop’ had a loosely hanging nose which explains his masks.
I once read about Jocelynn (in picture); a wealthy socialite who suffered worse skin effects than MJ after attempting a face lift. She had spent over 4 million dollars on surgeons to save and keep his cheating husband for herself but in the process, lost the fair beauty, money and the man she had.
The consequences of plastic surgery are sometimes good and sometimes bad. Many fix the long sought beauty as many more lose even the little they were blessed with from the start. Ironically that’s the price paid for gaining beauty under the plastic surgeons knife.
