At school. These pupils will sit their PLE examinations in English this year.

Editor,

Now that we have entered the Commonwealth and the East African Community, it is helpful that we master  English bandwagon as early as possible.

That is why I’m extremely pleased that pupils who are sitting their Primary Leaving Examinations this year will do so in English.

I think that this new initiative, of having the PLE in English, will focus the minds of the teachers and students and therefore help them become even more interested in teaching and learning English.

English is one of the leading international languages of business and academia. If  our students master the language they will keep abreast with the world.

The advantages are numerous, therefore be enthusiastic about learning the language. Teachers, as well, have the responsibility to give their pupils 100%. If the teachers and the pupils all work hard, I see great things in the future.
