Two power lifters, Theogne Hakizimana and Sylvestre Karemera have been selected to represent Rwanda at the African Power Lifting championship that will run from May 8-12 in Libya.

The duo were selected after getting the minimum qualification standards during the National power lifting championship that took place in Rubavu last week, and only two from the five power lifters that took part managed to get minimum qualification standard.

The Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee Celestin Nizeyimana told Times Sport that though the sport is relatively new in the country, there is raw talent that can be tapped.
