Editor,

Please allow me to make brief comment on remarks made in your newspaper in a letter written by Linda Mutesi titled "Mombasa strike shows the need for a railway to Dar”.

While-as the writer has every right to express herself on this and every topic issue, I find it curious to justify the development of Dar es Salaam as an alternative port for Rwanda’s economy, which is at any rate an economic goal for Rwanda and East African region infrastructural development, by citing claims of instability on the Kenya Route.

Kenya’s post-election implosion was a one-off hiatus, most unfortunate but not asymptomatic of Kenya’s History.

Despite the comparatively short duration its magnitude was clearly greater than what the numbers inside Kenya indicate.

However we must avoid unbalanced comments.

Thank you.
