RUHANGO/NYANZA – Police in Ruhango district are holding a sector leader for alleged revisionism.

Ernest Twahirwa, the Bweramana sector official in charge of civil affair was arrested last Sunday during a commemoration event at Nkomero memorial site, Mukingo sector, Nyanza district.

He is accused of trying to trivialise the 1994 genocide against Tutsi, which triggered a fury among mourners.

Police sources revealed that the suspect will soon appear before court to be formally charged.

If convicted, Twahirwa faces a sentence of between ten to twenty years in jail.
