As Rwanda marks the 32nd Liberation Day, Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) have unveiled a new set of insignias across its services, reinforcing its institutional identity and military heritage.

The updated insignias include redesigned flags, logos, patches, and skill identifiers for the Force's respective services.

According to the RDF, the new visual identity serves as an enduring symbol of national pride and reflects the Force's professionalism, values, and commitment to safeguarding Rwanda's sovereignty.

The redesigned symbols also visually reinforce the RDF's core mission while strengthening a shared sense of identity among service members, according to the institution.

The unveiling coincides with the 32nd Liberation Day, which marked the end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and the beginning of the country's journey toward unity, security, and national transformation.

The RDF, which metamorphosed from the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) has played a central role in preserving the gains of liberation by ensuring national security, contributing to peacekeeping operations across Africa and beyond, and supporting national development initiatives.

The introduction of the new insignias is part of the Force's continued efforts to strengthen its institutional image while honoring its history and preparing for future missions.
