AMAVUBI are in for a marathon test today when they engage Primus league side Electrogaz and La Jeunesse in back to back matches at Amahoro Stadium.

Sellas Tetteh’s side will have separate one –hour sessions with the two sides as part of their build-up to their crunch 2011 CHAN first leg qualifier against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars.
Last week, the team made light work of Primus league side AS Kigali after a 4-1 mauling.

Abouba Sibomana, Roger Tchouassi, Daddy Birori and Emmanuel Sebanani scored the goals while Louis Nshimiyimana netted AS Kigali’s consolation strike.

According to Tetteh, today’s matches will have a big say on the final squad that will travel to Dar es Salaam for the May 1 tie. The wasps depart this Friday, one day before the show down.

The return leg tie has been scheduled for June 5 in Kigali, one week after the Kagame Cup which runs from May 15-29 in Kigali. The second edition of the CHAN championship will be played in Sudan next year.

En route the final qualifying round, Tanzania whitewashed Somalia 6-0 while Amavubi secured a bye after Eritrea’s last minute withdrawal.

Taifa Stars started preparations over the weekend at Dar es Salaam national stadium.
