RWANDA’S top athlete Dieudonne Disi is eyeing retirement after this year’s Commonwealth Games which will be held in New Delhi, India from October 3-4.

Disi who talked to Times Sport yesterday from Holland said that the decision had been influenced by recurring injuries.
"The Commonwealth Games will be my last event. I don’t think I will carry on after that.”

"I’m trying to recover from a hamstring injury and hope to be back on the running track sometime in June. I know I will be fit for the Delhi Games,” he said.

Disi sustained the injury back in March while running in the Paris half marathon.

Last year, the 29-year-old competed in the World Marathon Championship only to pull out at the 28km mark after stretching a muscle.

He however made up for that slip with a series of victories in October; winning the 10,000m race at the Francophone Games, the Paris 20Km race and equaling the course record at the Reims Half Marathon.
