NPC sends two for Bujumbura event

BY TIMOTHY MUVUNYIThe National Paralympics Committee will send two athletes to gauge themselves against their Burundian counterpart this weekend as part of the athletes’ preparations for the July 11-23 All Africa Games.The Paralympics team head coach Eric Karasira confirmed that the two athletes; Athens Paralympics bronze medallist Jean de Dieu Nkundabera and Hermans Muvunyi will travel to Bujumbura tomorrow for the Saturday event. "We are sending only these two because they are highly regarded and are the ones with the potential to do well not only in Bujumbura but also in Algiers,” Karasira said. He noted that while the two will be taking part in the Bujumbura event, their colleagues back home, will continue with the normal training schedules.With less than a month to the Algiers Games, the NPC athletes are yet to start residential training but Karasira could not confirm the reasons for the delay.
