DAR ES SALAAM - Roger Tuyisenge scored with two minutes left to the end of the second half of extra-time to give Rwanda a 1-0 victory over Uganda yesterday and reach the final of this year’s GTV/Cecafa Challenge Cup final in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

The Amavubi Stars will now face a second string Sudanese national team in tomorrow’s final. Sudan beat hard-fighting Burundi 2-1 on Wednesday. At stake is a top cash award of $30,000 for the champion and a trophy.  In yesterday’s match, both teams created several scoring chances and each had a goal disallowed for offside.

Rwanda’s custodian Jean Claude Ndoli put in a man-of-the-match performance to deny Uganda on several attempts.

Semi-final losers, Burundi and Uganda face-off in a battle for the third position.
The match will be played before the final on Saturday.
