Major General Fred Ibingira was yesterday promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed the Reserve Force Commander, replacing the suspended Lt. Gen Charles Muhire.

Brig. Gen Jerome Ngendahimana was also promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed the Deputy Reserve Force Commander.

Prior to his appointment, Ibingira was the commander of the 1st Division while Ngendahimana has been the advisor of the Chief of Defence Staff.
