Rwandan gospel group The True Promises will hold its first evangelical music tour in Uganda this September, with concerts scheduled in Kampala on September 11 and Mbarara on September 13, marking a new step in the group’s regional outreach.
The tour, titled "The True Worship,” will be the group’s first performances in Uganda. It follows an earlier international appearance in Nairobi in 2017, where the group was invited to minister.

Speaking to The New Times, group member Mandela Ndahiriwe said the decision to expand into Uganda was driven by growing audience demand from worshippers in the country and members of the diaspora.
"We have received many requests from people in Uganda and the diaspora asking to worship with us,” Ndahiriwe said. "We are happy that we will finally meet and worship together. We also hope to make new friends and expand our ministry beyond Rwanda.”

Ahead of the tour, the group is translating some of its songs into Luganda, focusing on tracks that have performed strongly on YouTube. Ndahiriwe said the goal is to make the music more accessible to Ugandan audiences during the concerts.
The group has called on fans in Uganda to attend and take part.
Beyond the Uganda tour, The True Promises is preparing a new album scheduled for release later this year. The group is also working with Ultimate Music and Halal Africa on an international event set for October 25 at BK Arena, where they are expected to feature on the lineup.
