The Summer Country Tour arrives in Nyamata, Bugesera District, on Saturday, June 27, as Rwanda’s music headliners Bruce Melodie and The Ben continue their nationwide run of performances built around one of the country’s most closely watched musical rivalries.
The tour follows months of public debate over which of the two artistes leads Rwanda’s contemporary music scene.

Rather than settle the conversation online, both agreed to take it to the stage through a four-city tour that spans Musanze, Nyagatare, Bugesera and Rubavu.
The series opened in Musanze on June 13 before moving to Nyagatare on June 20, where both shows drew large crowds and sustained attention on the ongoing back-and-forth between the two performers.
With two stops completed, neither artist has clearly pulled ahead, setting up the Nyamata concert as a pivotal moment in the tour.

The lineup also includes Kitoko and Bwiza, who have featured at every stop to add depth to the performances and keep audiences engaged between the headline sets.
While attention has largely centered on Bruce Melodie and The Ben, Bwiza enters the Nyamata stop with added significance. Performing in her hometown, she is expected to draw strong local support and is positioning the show as a chance to deliver one of the night’s standout sets.
In a post on Instagram, Bwiza wrote, "This Saturday will be my day. You can’t play with a queen on her throne.”
Beyond the performances, the Summer Country Tour also incorporates exhibitions and trade fairs at each stop, providing space for local entrepreneurs, artists and craftspeople to showcase their work.
Organizers say the initiative is designed to connect entertainment with economic activity, particularly for young creatives and small businesses.
