RULINDO – Former Genocide convicts and genocide survivors in Mbogo Sector, Rulindo district, on Tuesday promised to work together to foster unity and reconciliation.

The two parties made the resolution during a get together ceremony organized by ACODER, an NGO committed to uniting former genocide perpetrators and survivors in Rulindo district.

The district Mayor, Justus Kangwaje, stressed the importance of harmonious co-existence.

"Genocide was committed by greedy leaders, who misled the population to kill their own brothers and sisters. You should heal the wounds left by the genocide through helping each other for purposes of unity and economic development,” said Kangwaje.

ACODER has carried out similar get together discussions, aimed at healing the negative effects of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rusiga Sector.
