APR assistant coach Eric Nshimiyimana has ruled out revenge when the military side clashes with TP Mazembe in next month’s Kagame Cup.

Mazembe dumped APR out of the Orange Champions league early this month on goal aggregates (2-1) but while speaking to Times Sport yesterday, the former APR and Amavubi midfielder said, "I wouldn’t blame anyone who thinks in that line but for us, revenge is the last thing on our mind.”

"Of course we were disappointed after being knocked out of the champions league but that is now in the past. Thinking about revenge would be naive.”

"Our aim is to win the Cup and that means beating the best teams in the tournament.”

The 37-year-old also downplayed talks of APR man-marking Mazembe’s engine and Caf’s local African footballer of the year - Tresor Mputu.

"We don’t have any special plans for him (Mputu). We have played against him twice, so we know what to expect.”

The Rwandan giants face an uphill struggle after being drawn in Group A along side TP Mazembe, Burundi’s Vital’O and Telkom of Djibouti.

Group B pits Rayon Sport (Rwanda), St. George (Ethiopia), Heartland (Nigeria) and Mafunzo (Zanzibar) while reigning champions Atraco (Rwanda), Sofapaka (Kenya), URA (Uganda) and Simba (Tanzania) make up Group C.
