Rwandan gospel music duo and couple, René Patrick and Tracy Agasaro, are set to host a series of worship concerts they describe as the beginning of a broader vision to create extended moments of fellowship with God through worship and praise.

The first concert of the new worship experience dubbed ‘In Christ Now', will take place on July 25 at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, bringing together worshippers from Rwanda and beyond for what the couple hopes will be a prolonged worship experience centred on celebrating life in Christ.

Speaking ahead of the concert, René Patrick said the vision dates back to 2019 during preparations for A Love Journey, a thanksgiving concert held to mark 25 years since Rwanda's liberation.

"While preparing that concert, we received a revelation about creating extended worship gatherings where people would spend significant time in God's presence, with no other agenda except fellowship with Him through worship," he said.

He added that on September 23, 2022, the name &039;In Christ Now' came to him, along with a clearer understanding of what the worship gatherings would become.

According to René Patrick, the initiative seeks to establish a worship platform focused on intimacy with God and the joy believers experience through their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Quoting Acts 17:28 — "For in Him we live and move and have our being" — he said the gatherings are designed to help participants experience the reality of living in Christ.

Although the organisers hope the worship experience will eventually be held more frequently and in different locations, it will initially take place once a year.

"If it were possible, we would hold it frequently and in as many places as we could so that more people could encounter and enjoy the life found in Christ," he said.

"For now, we believe it will be an annual gathering, by God's grace, where people come together with one purpose—to fellowship with God as members of one body whose head is Christ."

This year's edition will officially launch the worship movement. The programme is expected to run for several hours, featuring uninterrupted praise and worship led by ministers from Rwanda and abroad.

"It will be a long worship experience marked by continuous praise and worship as different ministers take turns leading people before God," René Patrick said.

He explained that what sets In Christ Now apart is its emphasis on fellowship with God rather than performance.

"There is a unique grace that only the Holy Spirit can reveal—the love that God has for us," he said. "The focus is on experiencing God's presence among believers and creating enough time for genuine fellowship with Him."

He added that both the music and instrumentation have been intentionally designed to help worshippers connect personally with Christ.

A couple devoted to ministry

Reflecting on their journey in ministry, René Patrick and Tracy Agasaro attributed every milestone to God's work.

"We thank God for the many testimonies He has created in people's lives through what He has chosen to do through us. We take no credit at all. It is entirely His work," René said.

Looking ahead, the couple hopes to see people of all ages, both in Rwanda and around the world, discover and embrace the life found in Christ.

"Our desire is to see many people, young and old, experience this life and come to know the depth of God's love," he said. "As a family, we have dedicated our lives to this mission."

While acknowledging that much of their ministry has resonated with young people, they stressed that the message is for everyone.

"We especially desire to see young people transformed because they are often the ones we feel called to reach. But this invitation is for all people, everywhere," René added.
