At Kicukiro turf, Electrogaz hammered another second division outfit Muhanga 5-0 to book a place into the quarterfinals.

Elsewhere, AS Kigali also progressed to the next round despite playing a 2-all draw against Police at Mumena stadium. The Kigali City sponsored club won 4-1 on penalties.  Mukura’s game against UNR was called off in recess due to heavy rains. By the time the game was stopped, Mukura had found the net twice through Corneille Murwanashaka in the first half.

On Saturday, six-time league champions Rayon Sport were the first to book a place into the quarterfinals after a 4-0 win over their struggling Primus National League rivals Marines.

The Blues under interim coach Emmanuel Ruremesha got their goals through Yusuf Ndayishimiye, Aphrodise Hategikimana. Former Kiyovu and Atraco striker Theoneste Muhayimana netted a brace.

In other matches played, Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s side Kiyovu also booked their place in the quarter finals after a 2-1 win over Musanze at Kicukiro artificial turf. Idebrand Nshuti and Eric Serugaba scored crucial goals for the Green and White outfit.

Elsewhere, league highfliers Etincelles played a 2-all draw against Amagaju and went on to win 3-0 on penalties at Mumena stadium.
