Haringingo promises stronger Rayon Sports

Rayon Sports head coach Francis Christian Haringingo has expressed confidence that the club is on course for a successful season after beginning its preparations early.

The Blues are rebuilding ahead of a campaign that will see them compete domestically and in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club has already signed Didier Ndayishimiye, Didier Nshuti, Christian Nisingizwe, Abbel Matumona, Charles Tchouplaou, Fabio Ndikumana and Moubarak Nizeyimana.

Haringingo said the groundwork laid in recent months gives him reason for optimism.

"It will be a great season because we started preparing early,” he said.

"You saw that we brought in a Technical Director to add more strength. We began discussions long before he even arrived in Rwanda.”

The coach said the club's long-term plan is centred on establishing a clear playing identity and strengthening youth development.

"We wanted to build a style of play starting from the youth teams. Because we prepared early, once the league ended, we continued working. We had already identified players, and our first objective was to sign quality Rwandan players who fit our philosophy.”

Haringingo noted that competition for local talent required Rayon Sports to act quickly in the transfer market.

"The pool of Rwandan players is very small. That’s why we acted quickly to sign the players we needed before other clubs did. By June, we had already achieved a lot.”

He said the club is satisfied with its local recruitment and is now focused on adding foreign players who complement the squad.
