APR extend coach Abderrahim's contract

APR FC have extended head coach Taleb Abderrahim's contract by one year, with an option for a further extension, following a successful 2025/26 season.

The Moroccan joined the club in 2025 and guided APR FC to a domestic treble, winning the Rwanda Premier League, Peace Cup and FERWAFA Super Cup.

Sources close to the club said the new agreement was finalised on Wednesday, despite Abderrahim's previous contract running until the end of the season.

The contract reportedly includes a performance-based review at the end of the 2026/27 campaign, after which APR FC can trigger an additional one-year extension.

While APR FC continue to dominate domestically, attention is increasingly turning to the CAF Champions League, where the club is aiming for a stronger showing.

The club has struggled to progress deep into the competition in recent years despite their domestic success.

Reaching the group stage would mark a significant step forward for the club.

Abderrahim is expected to strengthen the squad and improve the team's competitiveness ahead of the continental campaign.

Before the CAF Champions League qualifiers, APR FC will participate in the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which will be hosted in Rwanda next month.
