Former Police FC head coach Ben Moussa may take legal action after the club terminated his contract, claiming the dismissal breached the terms of his agreement.
The Tunisian coach, who joined Police FC in July 2025 on a three-year contract running until 2028, said he plans to take the matter to football authorities after what he described as an unfair dismissal.
"I was informed by the club that my contract had been terminated, although it was for three seasons,” Ben Moussa said in a statement. "After carefully examining the circumstances and the provisions of the contract, I found that my rights were not respected.”
Police FC parted ways with Ben Moussa after finishing sixth in the 2025/26 BK Pro League season, less than a year into his contract.
Under FIFA regulations, a club that terminates a contract without just cause can be required to pay compensation, including outstanding salaries and the remaining value of the deal. Such disputes are usually handled nationally before being escalated internationally.
The Federation of Rwandan Football Associations (FERWAFA) is often the first point of mediation in employment disputes involving local clubs. However, given the international nature of Ben Moussa’s contract, the case could ultimately be referred to FIFA’s Football Tribunal or Dispute Resolution Chamber if no settlement is reached.
